Shared Voices – A European Theatre-Project:

JUOZO MILTINIO VIDURINĖ MOKYKLA , Panevėžy, Lithuania. Panevėžys is the fifth largest town in Lithuania. It is situated in the middle of Lithuania halfway between two Baltic capitals – Vilnius and Riga. A lot of people think of Panevėžys as the city of the legendary J.Miltinis drama theatre. After studies at a theater school in Paris in 1940 J.Miltinis arrived in Panevežys and started a new epoch in the history of Lithuanian theater. Our school is proud to have been named after J.Miltinis – a famous actor and producer. He was faithful to his credo: ”Acting cannot be learned, – it is a creation of a live man from a live man”. Drama as an optional subject has been tought in the school since 1991. Students develop their creativity, self-expression and better understanding of art. There’s a tendency at school that parents leave for foreign countries looking for jobs and better financal life. The face some problems with pupils who live alone or their grandparents. J.Miltinis school students staff are from local families.
